Advertising
As you probably know, I (Edmond Bruneau) wrote a pretty famous book on advertising. After that, you get seemingly thousands of requests to write other things, unfortunately, mostly for gratis. One request that intrigued me most was from the U.S. Small Business Administration, who wanted me to write a government pamphlet on the subject on advertising. Of course, they couldn't pay me anything. But if this was a way that I could serve my country, so be it, I'm a patriot. You can access the text of the entire document for free just by clicking on Free SBA Advertising Pamphlet. For a superb parody of that famous ad, "They Laughed When I Sat Down at the Piano -- But When I Started to Play..." download They Laughed When I Sat Down to the Computer....
Art
Take a break and check out some great art work. I recommend The Metropolitan Museum of Art - For a whole listing and instant access to some really great art museums around the world, click on Art Museums.
For a moment, let me wax nostalgic. I went to college at Eastern Washington University from 1971-75 and received a degree in Journalism and Radio/Television. Eastern was and still is a great school, and its up-and-coming home page reflects just that. (EWU Home Page) In 1972-73, when I was editor of the campus newspaper, we developed some highly unusual aspects to the conventional world of journalism. As an example, re-experience one of the wonderful "Glue-all and Buddy" cartoons, among other distractions of the '70's. (I believe the back issues are available on microfiche at the library, for those who are really curious) The same artist did another cartoon we thought was very funny at the time. Click here to see Cat Sucking the Baby's Breath. College humor, I guess. If you're a fan of campus newspapers in general, click on the bold to get a listing and access to a whole mess of them.
Creative Consultants uses Macintosh equipment for all its desktop design and publishing work. Here's a file called MacinTouch -- a daily column written by Ric Ford. I'm a big fan of DealMac. too.
Electronic Media
Take a trip down memory lane and view the Museum of Broadcast Communications. There you'll find some really cool stuff if you've been a boob tube fan since childhood, like me. Dick Orkin's Radio Ranch is another media-oriented page by one of the best in the business. Cool links from there, too. - Creative Consultants has subscribed to Communication Arts Magazine since 1983 and we have an impressive library of past issues to prove it. If you are into design at all, this is the book to get. Also, if you're a CD lover like I am, check out CD Connection - it's the easiest and best way to replace the album you've worn out with a brand new CD.

Creative Consultants are Quark fans. No, that doesn't mean we've never tried In Design. Quark just seems to fit our design and layout pallet better. If you're a Quark fan too, The XPresso Bar is for you.
